summer

A few weeks ago we did an indoor craft fair (see the pic)... great sales, no wind to worry about but not nearly as charming as our lovely Moss Street Market.

So we're focusing mostly on Moss Street lately, and lavender in wallpockets was the big item this weekend.

We have two new techniques now as well, sandblasting and

MOLDS

Tons of possibilities. Got some ceramic clay, shaped it and dried it on top of the kiln, then put it in the kiln at a slow ramp up 300 d/h to 1500 (some on the web say 1700 gives stronger molds) Then kilnwash and use. I did have success with one small mold with just kilnwashing the greenware (it was really really dry from the kiln top though). But clearly the prefired ones are stronger.

p.s. I can't believe it was mid-May when I last posted.
